The 30 NBA teams play from October until the June Finals, featuring big games, rivalry nights, and postseason rounds. Pick a team to see when they play or look at every NBA date currently for sale.

Basketball is the opposite market to football: a long season and many home dates mean most games have somewhere to go if you wait, and the price reflects that. The exceptions are concentrated and predictable.

The visiting team usually influences an NBA price more than the home team does. Tickets for a nationally televised night, a marquee opponent, or a former player returning to the venue will cost several times as much as a midweek game against a rebuilding team in the same arena. Almost everywhere, weekend dates are priced higher than weeknights, and prices move sharply during the final few weeks of the regular season once playoff seeding is live.

Wait for the right time, as the extended schedule makes patience more rewarding than it is for football. If you are flexible on dates, checking two or three home games during a month often reveals identical seats for much less.

Median of the 29 team medians, not of every game: a team that plays twice as often should not count twice as much. 2,045 of 2,078 games carried a live price at that reading; the rest had no listing and are excluded from the arithmetic rather than counted as zero.

Want a hotel for NBA game day?

Most NBA events listed here are in the 6 cities below, and clicking any one opens a hotels page for that city. These pages show the actual distance from the center of town so you know if a property is within walking or driving distance before booking. You can also see which hotels are located near each individual venue on these pages.

Hotel rooms close to a venue are the first to go on the night of an event. Because hotels set prices based on the same demand as tickets, remaining options tend to cost more as the date approaches. The rates shown are live for your selected nights. Each city page also shows other events happening during your visit and any cheaper hostel beds available nearby.

Frequently asked questions

How much are NBA tickets?

Across 29 teams and 2,078 games, the median get-in price is $36 a ticket - the cheapest seat listed for a game, before the booking fee, read on 7 November 2026. It varies hugely by team: Utah Jazz runs a median $21 and New York Knicks $187. The full table is on this page and every figure is free to cite.

Where do fans stay for NBA game day?

It depends on the fixture, because every NBA game is in a different city. The hotel links on this page open the 6 cities with the most fixtures on the schedule above, busiest first, and each is labelled with the town the venue stands in, which for a lot of NBA venues is a suburb rather than the city the club is named after. Pick the fixture first and open its page: where that venue has a hotels page of its own, the event page links the rooms beside it.
