Who we are

StubOrder is an independent online ticket resale marketplace based in Buffalo, NY. In this policy, "StubOrder," "we," "us," and "our" refer to StubOrder. If you have any question about your privacy, contact us through our contact form.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details you share when you email or call us, such as your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your message.
  • Order information when you buy tickets. Your payment and billing details are collected and processed by our ticketing partner on the checkout screen, not stored by StubOrder. See "How we share information" below.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage and device data such as your browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and general interaction, gathered through analytics.
  • Approximate location. To show events near you, we look up an approximate city and state from your IP address using a third-party geolocation service. We store a shortened, hashed reference rather than your full IP for this feature, and you can change or clear your location at any time.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described in the next section.

Cookies we use

Cookies are small files stored on your device. StubOrder uses a small set:

  • Essential cookies that remember your display theme (light or dark), your chosen or detected location, and your cart, so the site works the way you expect. These are always on because the site needs them to function.
  • Consent cookie that records whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we can honor your choice on return visits.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics) that helps us understand how visitors use the site. If you accept, analytics uses cookies. If you decline, we switch to a cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode): no analytics cookies are stored on your device, though anonymous, aggregated page-view measurement that does not identify you may still take place.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

How we use information

  • To run the marketplace: show listings, surface events near you, and let you search and check out.
  • To process and confirm your orders through our ticketing partner and provide customer support.
  • To understand and improve site performance and content through analytics.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that make the site work, and only as needed:

  • Ticketing and checkout partner. Ticket inventory, the interactive seat map, and the checkout are provided by our ticketing partner (TicketNetwork and its Seatics and checkout services). When you buy, your order and payment details are submitted to that partner to complete the purchase, and their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy terms.
  • Analytics provider. Google Analytics processes usage data to produce aggregate reports. We enable IP anonymization.
  • Location lookup provider. A third-party geolocation service resolves your approximate city and state from your IP address.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of StubOrder, our customers, or others.

Your choices and rights

  • Analytics. Use the cookie notice to accept or decline analytics. Declining turns Google Analytics off for your visit and future visits on that device.
  • Location. Use the "change location" control in the header to set or clear the location we use for "events near you."
  • Browser controls. You can clear or block cookies and set your browser to signal Global Privacy Control (GPC).
  • State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example under the CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, or to opt out of certain sharing. To make a request, use our contact form and we will respond as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

StubOrder is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Our site and checkout may link to sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
