Lombardi Avenue and Holmgren Way (next to the stadium)
The blocks immediately around Lambeau, in the village of Ashwaubenon, hold the densest cluster of hotels in the metro area -- mostly mid-range chains, alongside the Packers-owned Titletown District just west of the stadium and the Resch Center and Resch Expo directly across Oneida Street. A few properties are a walk of minutes; most of the rest are within twenty. This is also the area that sells out first and prices highest, and rooms for a marquee game are often gone long before the season starts.

Downtown Green Bay
About three miles north-east of Lambeau, roughly five to ten minutes by car outside game traffic. Downtown is compact and walkable in a way the stadium area is not: the On Broadway district, Olde Main Street and the CityDeck riverwalk along the Fox River put most of the city's better restaurants and bars within a few blocks of each other. Choose downtown if you want somewhere to spend Saturday evening rather than a base within sight of the bowl.

Airport area and the west side
Austin Straubel International Airport is only about five miles from Lambeau, so the hotels near it are among the closest in the metro area to both the airport and the stadium. On a tight fly-in, fly-out trip that is efficient, and this area sometimes still has rooms after the Lombardi corridor has gone. There is nothing to walk to.
Best for Early or late flights
Appleton and the Fox Cities
About 30 miles south down Interstate 41, roughly thirty-five to forty minutes to the stadium outside game traffic. Appleton, Neenah, Menasha and the rest of the Fox Cities have far more hotel supply than Green Bay and are not priced against a single football weekend, which is why a great many visiting fans actually stay here. Appleton has its own walkable downtown along College Avenue and its own airport. The trade-off is plain: a sixty-mile round trip on the day, and someone sober to drive it. Oshkosh, roughly fifty miles out, is the next fallback when the Fox Cities fill too.

Best area without a car
The Lombardi Avenue corridor, and here that is a real answer rather than a consolation. From a hotel on Lombardi Avenue or Holmgren Way you can reach the stadium, the Titletown District and the Resch Center on foot without ever getting into a vehicle. Downtown is the better base for a car-free evening out, but you will still need the game-day bus or a rideshare to get to Lambeau.

Getting to Lambeau Field
Parking
The lots immediately around the stadium are largely committed to season parking pass holders; a limited number of spaces are sold for individual games in advance, and lots open a few hours before kickoff for tailgating. The distinctive Green Bay alternative is the neighbourhood itself -- a city ordinance permits residents to sell parking on their lawns and driveways on home game days, and the streets around Lombardi Avenue, Oneida Street and Ridge Road fill with hand-lettered signs. It is usually cash, usually cheaper than the official lots, rarely reservable, and the price falls the further you are willing to walk.
Public transportation
There is no passenger train to Green Bay and no rail link to the stadium; Amtrak has never served the city, and the last scheduled passenger trains ran in 1971. What does exist is unusually good for a market this size: Green Bay Metro runs free dedicated game-day bus routes to Lambeau on Packers home game days, picking up from points around the metro area, starting several hours before kickoff and running for about an hour after the final whistle. Check the current route map before relying on it -- the pick-up points are set season by season.
Uber, Lyft and taxis
Uber and Lyft both operate in Green Bay, but the local driver pool is small measured against a crowd of eighty thousand. Expect heavy surge pricing and a long wait after the game, and considerably worse if you are heading back out to Appleton. The stadium designates a rideshare pick-up point at the corner of Mike McCarthy Way and Holmgren Way.
Restaurants nearby
The stadium area is better supplied than most. The Lambeau Field Atrium itself holds the Packers Pro Shop and a pub, and Kroll's West has been serving charcoal-grilled butter burgers across the road from the ground since 1974, from a family business that dates to 1936. The Titletown District immediately west of the stadium adds a handful of places, including Hinterland's brewery and restaurant. For range rather than tradition, downtown Green Bay -- the On Broadway district, Olde Main Street and the blocks along Washington Street -- has considerably more choice. Wisconsin supper-club cooking, a Friday fish fry and cheese curds are the things worth going out of your way for.
Things to do nearby
Lambeau Field is a year-round attraction in its own right: the Atrium, the Packers Hall of Fame and stadium tours all operate outside game days, and the Titletown District next door has a public park, an ice rink and a tubing hill in winter. Elsewhere in the city, the National Railroad Museum, Heritage Hill State Historical Park, the Neville Public Museum, the Green Bay Botanical Garden, Bay Beach Amusement Park and the separate Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary across the road from it are each worth an afternoon. Door County, the peninsula of harbour villages and state parks north-east of the city, begins at Sturgeon Bay about 45 miles away and is the standard add-on to a long weekend.
