The pattern to know is the supporters' section: the standing, singing end of the ground is usually among the cheapest tickets in the building and the loudest place to watch, but it is also the section most likely to sell out early at the clubs with a serious following. Rivalry fixtures and visits from the league's biggest draws are the dates that behave like a different sport entirely.
Because the season runs through the warmer months, weather is less of a factor here than in the outdoor leagues that play into the winter -- which makes a late decision less risky than it would be for football or baseball.
